Yellowbrick Cowlette
Yellowbrick combines the appearance of a shawlette with the ease of a cowl. It starts out worked flat like a top-down shawl, and is then joined and worked in the round to the bottom edge. I call these hybrid patterns, “cowlettes.”
Yellowbrick alternates marled sections of stockinette with eyelet stripes of mohair for a light and lofty fabric with a fuzzy halo glow. The twisted rib border incorporates a smocked chevron pattern (like yellow bricks), and shaping that coaxes the bottom edge into elegant points.
Smocking is the technique used to create the chevron brick pattern in the bottom border of the cowlette. Check out this video on my Youtube Channel for a tutorial! https://youtu.be/rmOCIDM2WkE
